Inside our insulation range
When it comes to improving energy efficiency within both existing and new-build properties, insulation is essential but how can you be sure the products you have chosen are the best fit for your project? And how can you balance thermal performance and Part L compliance with the need to meet evolving fire and safety standards?
Partnering with a distributor like CCF can help. From developing an extensive range of products to offering technical expertise you can rely on, here are just a few ways we are helping our customers create compliant and comfortable buildings.
Multiple choice
Within one building alone, multiple types of insulation may be required depending on the project’s specific requirements and its type of construction. That’s why we have developed our product range to include a good selection of insulation suitable for use in all the main walls, ceiling and floor applications. These include insulation products that have been developed for warm, cold and flat roof applications, and options for both masonry and timber and steel-framed buildings.
As well as offering products for different applications, our insulation range includes a variety of different materials. We can offer everything from rigid board insulation, including PIR, phenolic to glass and stone mineral wool rolls and slabs, including insulation materials to prevent heat loss from HVAC applications (e.g. pipes and ducts) Need help navigating our extensive product range? Supported by our national insulation team, our regional branch colleagues are always on hand to provide guidance on product availability and pricing to make sure you can get the product you need, when you need it.
Part L compliance
The updates to Part L of the Building Regulations have had a huge impact on the way insulation materials are now specified and installed. U-values are typically more demanding than under earlier versions of Part L and there is a greater focus on installation in order to bridge the performance gap between designed and as built performance. These changes may affect the buildup of walls, floors and roofs and the insulation materials used.
Our technical team is here to help our customers work through their specific project needs and provide suitable options for insulation products and construction buildups to help achieve compliance with Building Regulations. By working with our customers at every stage of a project, our in-house technical expertise is a resource that everyone can tap into.
Established solutions for today’s world
Here at CCF, we work with the UK’s leading manufacturers to keep our range up to date with all the latest solutions but increasingly, insulation has a much bigger part to play in a building’s overall design than simply reducing heat loss. As well as understanding the requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations, insulation materials can also impact on acoustic performance and compliance with Part E, as well as fire safety regulations such as Part B and the Building Safety Act.
Our extensive product range includes passive fire protection solutions for fire stopping and compartmentation, as well as thermal and acoustic insulation that offer good sound absorption qualities and improved energy efficiency. We can also provide help with U-value and condensation risk calculations – important considerations when insulating properties against heat loss – and can offer a number of complementary products such as vapour control layers, breather membranes, insulation tape and cavity closers.
From our branches to your building sites
Finding the best insulation product for your next project is a balancing act in terms of the different performance criteria that have to be met, budget requirements and project timescales. That’s why we work closely with our manufacturer partners to be able to offer short lead times, competitive prices and reliable delivery schedules from our nationwide network of branches. Whether you are working on a smaller job, a challenging retrofit contract or a large-scale new build development, we have insulation products for use across the housebuilding and commercial sectors, as well as for traditional builds and offsite projects.
