2024 – A Snapshot of Our Year

17th Dec 2024

Although the construction industry has continued to face challenges over the last twelve months, there have been plenty of positives along the way. In our latest blog, we are taking a look back at some of our favourite moments from 2024!

Passing the CCPI Assessment for Merchants and Distributors

At the start of the year, we announced our intention to support the work of the Construction Code for Product Information (CCPI) by having our processes for storing and sharing product information assessed.

The CCPI is an industry-wide initiative created and developed by the Marketing Integrity Group (MIG) on behalf of the Construction Products Association in response to The Hackitt Report into the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Over the course of the year, we have been working closely with the CCPI, and in November, we passed the assessment for merchants and distributors.

However, our CCPI journey is far from over, as the success of the initiative relies on continuous improvement and a long-term commitment to upholding its standards. This will remain a key focus for us in the year ahead. You can find out more about our CCPI assessment and what it means for both our suppliers and customers here.

Supporting Sustainability

At the start of 2024, we made a significant senior appointment that has reaffirmed our commitment to driving sustainability forward. Phil Monkman is our Head of Customer Sustainability and in this newly created role, Phil has been busy working with CCF customers on various initiatives throughout the year including CCF’s new carbon reporting tool. We are always looking for opportunities to help support our customers to reduce their environmental impact and improve their reporting capability. This industry leading initiative will launch in 2025 so stand by for more details on this in the new year!

Another key development for us this year has been our involvement with The Pallet Loop – an independent initiative that promotes the reuse and recycling of wooden pallets to reduce waste across the industry. To date, we have been working with our supply chain partner British Gypsum, and the distinctive green-coloured pallets have been spotted on sites up and down the country.

Growing Our Branches…and Product Range!

Back in March, the opening of our new CCF Norwich branch definitely put a spring in our step! Strategically located to offer further support to our customers in East Anglia, CCF Norwich complements our established branches in Peterborough and Colchester. Since opening, CCF Norwich has gone from strength to strength, supporting orders from customers both old and new. In fact, the official launch programme for CCF Norwich was so successful that the branch achieved its three-month sales target within just 40 days! The launch campaign also saw CCF’s marketing team recognised with three prestigious nominations at the Construction Marketing Awards.

Additionally, 2024 saw the relaunch of our own brand product ranges – Sektor, our range of mineral ceiling tiles and grid products, and Tradeline, our complete drywall system. We’re proud to have showcased some of the contracts that have featured our own brand products on our website this year, and to stay fully up to date with all our latest project news next year, make sure you are also following CCF on LinkedIn.

Looking Ahead to 2025

The changes to Part L of the Building Regulations may have been announced back in 2021, but compliance has still dominated conversations throughout this year. Now, with all eyes on the Future Homes Standard that is expected to come into effect in 2025, it’s never been more important for specifiers, contractors, and distributors like CCF to work together to deliver buildings that meet the new requirements for energy efficiency. That’s why our technical expertise will continue to be an important part of the solution-based service that we can offer our customers in 2025 and beyond.

Our extensive range of insulation materials and our close relationships with many of the UK’s leading insulation product manufacturers also put us in a strong position to support our customers in the year ahead.
